George Hamilton Green, Jr. was born 1893 and died 1970. Child prodigy on piano and violin. Considered to be the greatest xylophonist in the world. Repertoire of solos was well over 300 standard overtures, Hungarian rhapsodies, violin concertos and concert piano selections. He began his recording career as a soloist for the Edison Company in 1916. He recorded for virtually every label until his retirement in 1940.
